Artificial intelligence tools aren’t just a convenient way to complete homework or edit selfies and videos.
Using them could be your next source of income, says self-made millionaire Matt Higgins, CEO of investment firm RSE Ventures and guest star on ABC’s “Shark Tank.” says.
“AI will be the greatest wealth creator in history because it doesn’t care where you came from, whether you have money or whether you have a PhD,” Higgins said on CNBC. told Make It. “It will break down the barriers that have prevented people from climbing the ladder and pursuing their dreams of financial freedom.”
While this may seem like a bold prediction given the limitations of current generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Midjourney, a recent report from PwC shows that the AI market will grow rapidly over the next decade. expected. Already worth nearly $100 billion, it is expected to contribute $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030.
“If we don’t act now, it’s not that we can never do it,” says Higgins. “Now is the best time to take advantage of it.”
Here are two ways you can make money with AI right now, according to experts, and a third that isn’t ready yet but could start soon.
If you love writing, graphic design, and photo and video editing, AI can help you use those skills more efficiently and profitably.
“If you’re a liberal arts college student and you’re considering going to school, or you’re just trying to learn something new, now’s your chance to increase your knowledge of AI,” says the nonprofit. AIandYou Founder and CEO Susan Gonzalez said. He teaches AI skills to people in marginalized communities.
Today’s generative AI tools already help you create business plans and create digital artwork. The key is to proofread and fact-check every word or pixel your AI tool generates, and fine-tune your language to sound less robotic and more like yourself.
For example, an AI tool called Jasper has already helped Kristen Walters create digital products such as workbooks, ebooks and audiobooks.
Lawyer-turned-entrepreneur-publisher Walters explained his process in a recent Medium post: This is a function for creating a workbook outline. I used the following prompt: Create an outline for a workbook titled “Money Management for Freelancers”. ”
Walters said Jasper created the outline in 30 seconds. She then revised and edited the outline into a full-fledged workbook that she formatted in Canva and sold online.
Some freelance jobs are earning more than $100 an hour, CNBC Make It noted in May.
Gonzalez says every small business owner with access to the internet should study how AI can help improve the bottom line of their company.
AI tools “help us improve our business, improve inventory management, analyze customer behavior, and gain competitive intelligence,” says Gonzalez. “Small businesses can use his AI tools to make their marketing and advertising efforts more effective and identify new revenue opportunities.”
Jacqueline DeStefano Tangora, CEO and founder of Omni Business Intelligence Solutions, a boutique consulting firm, told CNBC Makeit on Friday that they used ChatGPT to fill out forms when onboarding new customers. said there is.
First, upload your existing template to ChatGPT. She then asks the tool to delete the old customer information and add the new customer’s name and agreed terms.
“Now I will put the agreement in their hands in 10 minutes,” she said.
DeStefano-Tangorra added that he also uses ChatGPT to outline meeting topics that he shares with clients.
Don’t upload sensitive information to AI tools, experts say. AI tools store, analyze, and learn from whatever you type. Beyond that, feel free to experiment, says Gonzalez.
“The great thing is that today all we have to do is look at how AI tools can improve small businesses,” she says. “The information is there.”
AI tutoring, teaching people how to get the most out of generative AI tools, is not yet a high-demand job. It’s coming soon, says Gonzalez.
“There are many online learning opportunities to understand how AI works that can be helpful. [someone] You might become an AI tutor or take AI training to pass AI on to the next generation,” she says.
Several schools, from Harvard to UC Davis, offer free AI courses ranging from hours to weeks on learning algorithms, data analysis, and more.
Learning these skills puts you in a position to take advantage of the inevitable, says Higgins.
