Eric Beach talks about building AI that helps people

Our views are different. We think AI should connect people with weapons. AI should strengthen them. AI should foster confidence. It should empower them in their families, businesses, churches, schools, and communities.”

What was the impetus for creating it?
There is real fear around AI right now, and people are right to feel it. Every day they hear some version of the same message: AI is coming for your job, your industry, your future. Data centers are increasing. The community is told to retreat. Workers are being told to retrain, attend trade school or accept that some form of universal basic income could be their future. That’s a terrible message to send to a country built by entrepreneurs, workers, families, churches, and small organizations.

We started Lineage because we believe there is another path. AI doesn’t have to be a hollowing force. It can be a tool to help them build. This helps parents play a bigger role in their child’s education. It helps small business owners compete with large corporations. Those with actual responsibilities will be able to perform their jobs with more confidence and less friction.

The measure of society is whether the next generation has a real chance of outperforming the previous generation. That’s it. We want to democratize AI. Not as a slogan. As for the operating principle.

How is Bishop different from other AI platforms?
Most AI products are built on the premise that the user adapts to the machine. Bishop is built on the opposite idea: machines need to adapt to people. The second difference is that the bishop gets the job done. Most AI tools end with an answer. They give you an outline, a draft, a list of options, but the work is still yours. Bishop combines advisors with an execution layer. You can send emails, make appointments, create your weekly schedule, run errands, and complete tasks. Ask questions and get answers. Give the job and it gets done. That’s the difference between a search box and a staff.

How does business work?
Bishop is a membership model, not a data collection model. Members pay for the Services, and the Services work for the Members. Their attention is not on the product. Their data is not their product. That adjustment is important. For AI to be a part of people’s lives, it must be built on trust from the beginning.

What do you think of Bishop’s role for entrepreneurs?
Entrepreneurs understand technological disruption better than anyone. Big changes always create winners and losers. Entrepreneurs lose when the only people who can truly benefit from AI are the biggest companies with the most data, the best engineers, and the closest relationships with governments. The family loses. Local institutions lose. But entrepreneurs can win when AI becomes accessible, practical, and collaborative with users. Efficient operation is possible. They can compete with larger organizations. they can move faster. They can provide better service to their customers. You can start a company without needing the same people or infrastructure that was once required.

How does Dr. Ron Paul’s involvement fit into this?
Dr. Ron Paul advises the founders here, and his involvement fits perfectly with that mission. He has spent his life warning about the concentration of power in government, money, institutions, corporate systems, and more. AI asks the same questions in new ways. Who controls the tools? Who owns the data? Who benefits from the profits? Will this technology give individuals more freedom or ease of control? Those are Paul’s questions. These are also the questions every serious AI company should be asking now. Paul brings credibility, independence, and a very clear philosophy. That is, freedom depends on keeping power in the hands of individuals. That’s exactly what we’re trying to do at Bishop.

How did your background as a political strategist influence the creation and operation of your company?
Politics teaches us that information only matters if it helps people act. Campaigns must deal with speed, pressure, limited resources, incomplete information, and real-world results. You need to separate the signal from the noise. You have to know who you are fighting for. We need to build coalitions. You have to move people. That shaped my view of AI. My political background also made me sensitive to issues of power. At this scale, technology is never neutral. Either you centralize power or you decentralize it. It either serves those at the top or helps those on the ground stand higher. Bishop is built for the second group.
