Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence (AI) company, xAI, is making Bellevue its latest home.
xAI is leasing an entire floor (approximately 25,000 square feet) at Lincoln Square South in the heart of downtown Bellevue, according to a city permit application.
According to , the now-vacant floor was previously home to Epic Games, the company behind Fortnite. Puget Sound Business Journal. Epic Games has moved to the Key Center, an office tower in Bellevue’s central business district.
The AI company was originally founded in Palo Alto, California. Musk originally announced in September that xAI would open an office in the Puget Sound region.
xAI has open positions at this location, with salaries ranging from $180,000 to $440,000.
xAI co-founder announces retirement
Tony Wu (co-founder) xAI, which was first founded in 2023, announced on Tuesday that he would be stepping down from the company.
“I am leaving xAI today. This company, and the family we have become, will be with me forever,” Wu wrote on X Tuesday. “I will so much miss the people, the fighting room, and all the battles we fought together.”

Wu was one of 12 co-founders, including Musk, who launched xAI in 2023. His resignation means five co-founders have left the company in less than three years. Co-founders Christian Szegedy, Igor Babushkin, Kyle Kosik, and Greg Yang have all left the company.

xAI merged with SpaceX in a deal worth $1.25 trillion.
