Elon Musk says he wants to “simulate” software companies with AI

Elon Musk announced that he would like to “simulate” it using only artificial intelligence, such as software companies like Microsoft. He even has a name for a new venture: Macrohard.

Musk said on Friday's XPost that his AI startup, Xai, is building “a purely AI software company called Macrohard.”

“It's a tongue-like name, but the project is very realistic!” he said. “In principle, given that software companies like Microsoft don't manufacture physical hardware, they should be able to fully simulate them with AI.”

Musk did not provide details and a Xai spokesman did not reply to requests for comment. A Microsoft spokesman did not respond to requests for comment.

Brent Mayo, an engineer working at Xai, retweeted Musk's post.

Musk's AI Grok responded to X's comments, saying that AI could replicate Microsoft's “all operations” from coding to management, adding that the company is currently employed.

US Patent and Trademark Office documents also show that the “macro hard” mark was submitted by Xai on August 1st.

Doug Rettew, the trademark attorney listed on the application, did not return a request for comment.

The application includes a wide range of AI-centric products and services for macro-hards, including “downloadable computer software for artificial production of human speech and text” and “downloadable computer software for designing, coding, running and playing video games using artificial intelligence.”

Macrohardt has been added to the long lineup of mask ventures, and he is partially owned or operated. At the moment, Musk is also responsible for Tesla, Xai, X Corp, The Boring Company, SpaceX and Neuralink at the same time.

The creation of macrohards comes as Musk pushes further into AI and robotics, such as encouraging Tesla to invest in Zai. In a 2024 revenue call, Musk said he holds the “wrong framework” just thinking of Tesla as an automotive company, calling Tesla the “AI Robotics Company.”

Musk also includes Robotaxis and Humanoid Robot.
