Elon Musk is under fire again, this time from Meta AI CEO Yann LeCun, who has accused him of “vindictive politics.”
according to Hindustan Times, “I hate his vindictive politics, conspiracy theories and hype,” the head of Meta AI said.
Recently, the billionaire entrepreneur invited his followers to join his new startup, xAI, in a post on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), which read, “Join xAI if you believe in our mission to understand the universe, which requires the most rigorous pursuit of truth, regardless of popularity or political correctness.”
LeCun responded to the tweet by saying, “Join xAI if you can stand a boss who insists the problem you're working on will be solved next year (no pressure). A boss who insists the problem you're working on needs to be stopped or paused because it's killing everyone (yay, a 6 month break!). A boss who claims to want to 'pursue the full truth' but spews outrageous conspiracy theories on his own social platforms. Join xAI if you can stand a boss who insists they want to 'pursue the full truth' but spews outrageous conspiracy theories on their own social platforms.”
He added: “I love his cars, rockets, solar panels and satellite network, but I hate his vindictive politics, conspiracy theories and hype.”
To this, the CEOs of SpaceX and Tesla responded, “What kind of 'science' have you done in the last five years?” LeCun countered, “Over 80 technical papers have been published since January 2022. What about you?”
The tech giant said, “That's not a big deal, you're being naive, try harder!” to which the Meta AI CEO replied, “Now you're acting like you're my boss.”
“Yang was just following orders,” Musk insisted.
LeCun ended the discussion by saying, “You don't seem to understand how research is done.”
