EIC Accelerator – Changes to Application Submission Platform

Applications of AI

The current EIC artificial intelligence (AI) platform for applying to the EIC accelerator is no longer accessible as of today due to a contractual dispute. As a result, as an emergency measure, the EIC has restructured his EIC Accelerator application form on the Funding and Bid Opportunities Portal and will continue to improve it.

Since its launch under Horizon Europe, EIC has used the EIC AI Platform (also known as the EIC Accelerator Submission Platform) for application submissions for EIC Accelerator calls. The platform was developed in a very short period of time to accommodate new features that were not possible with funding and bid opportunity portals at the time. In particular, we provided diagnostics, AI tools, and methodologies to help applicants develop their business plans in a carefully structured way.

Although the EIC AI platform has been further developed and improved since 2021, the feedback received from applicant companies, EIC judges, professional evaluators, investors, etc. indicates that the platform is still too complex for companies to understand. It has been shown to require a great deal of time and effort. and complete the application. The EIC Board will look into this matter and on March 21, 2023, will make significant and rapid improvements to the EIC AI Platform, in particular reducing the length of the application form and making it more rigorous to the business case used for other investment purposes. issued a statement requesting compliance. , improve the user experience.

Companies already working on full (Step 2) proposal applications for the EIC Accelerator deadline of 7 June 2023 will be notified by email and will receive a draft application dossier. They will be able to proceed with their immediate application on the Funding and Bid Opportunities Portal using the portal’s application form. To ensure equal treatment in the evaluation, companies that have already submitted a full (Step 2) application on his EIC AI platform will also have to resubmit their proposals. These companies will also receive by email the application submitted to the EIC AI platform.

To accommodate the change in applicants, the June 7, 2023 submission deadline has been extended by two weeks to June 21, 2023, 17:00.

For a short period of time, businesses will not be able to submit short (Step 1) applications. The short (Step 1) application will not be submitted on the Fundraising and Bid Opportunities Portal, but on another of his EISMEA IT platforms to be installed. The Step 1 proposal requires a separate IT platform due to its specific requirements (short form, slide deck, video pitch). Therefore, companies preparing short (Step 1) applications will have to wait until the new IT platform goes live. This is expected to be ready in early July 2023. EISMEA aims to complete the evaluation of all short-term (Step 1) applications within 4 weeks, after which successful applicants will have up to 1 year to prepare the full (Step 2) application. is given. For companies that have already submitted a short (step 1) application but have not yet received a (positive) evaluation result, prepare a full (step 2) application in time for the (delayed) deadline I don’t have enough time. June 21st. These companies will be notified of the evaluation results in due course and may apply for the next cutoff (October 4, 2023) or early 2024.
