Eclipsebio acquires Terrain Bio to build AI-driven design, manufacturing and testing platform or RNA therapeutics

Machine Learning

Eclipse Bioinnovations announced the acquisition of Terrain Bio, adding AI and machine learning capabilities for RNA sequence design and manufacturing analysis to Eclipsebio’s sequencing-based analysis platform as the company advances fully integrated workflows for RNA therapeutic development.

The agreement will integrate Terrain Bio’s machine learning models for RNA sequence optimization, active learning workflows, and R&D-scale mRNA manufacturing platform with Eclipsebio’s sequencing datasets and quality control tools such as eMERGE™ and eVERSE™. Eclipsebio said the integrated product aims to directly connect computational design to experimental feedback, enabling an end-to-end design, manufacturing and testing approach that improves as new development data is generated.

Eclipsebio said this integrated platform will help RNA therapeutics developers iteratively design optimized RNA constructs using AI modeling and active learning, measure structure, translation, and impurities through high-resolution sequencing analysis, and extract actionable insights on manufacturing robustness and quality by design.

The company said it will continue to support existing Terrain Bio customers and work with partners to ensure a smooth transition following the acquisition.
