
An important milestone in IT education in Sri Lanka on Wednesday was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together to promote free education by the Dhamika & Priscilla Perera DP Education Foundation (DP Foundation) and the University of Ruhuna (UoR). indicated by Online programs in data science, machine learning, and AI development and delivery.

The purpose of this project is to provide IT enthusiasts in Sri Lanka with the opportunity to learn for free and have unlimited access to IT knowledge. The DP Foundation, through the DP Education IT Campus Division, will propel this new initiative to his UOR by providing the full required funding, research input in curriculum development, and his EdTech support for the delivery of online courses. The program consists of 5 courses and is as follows: data analysis; machine learning. Data engineering and data science.
All courses are offered completely free to everyone, regardless of age, through our online platform. This program aims to provide employment opportunities in computer engineering and computer programming, ensuring the highest quality content delivery. The aim of the online program development between DP Education and UOR is to enhance the IT sector’s contribution to the GDP that enables economic growth in the country.
DP Education and the University of Moratuwa have already jointly launched the following courses, which are free for everyone to access and study at www.open.uom.lk.
Full-stack development (Python for beginners, web design for beginners, Python programming, front-end web development, server-side web programming, and professional practice). Cloud Computing; Data Science (Introduction to Data Science and Applied Data Science); Quality Assurance; Cybersecurity; IoT; UI/UX design. Mobile application development and project management (fundamentals of project management, project scope and schedule management, project communication and stakeholder management, agile project management in ICT projects, project cost and resource management, project risk management, project management Quality Management, Project Contract Law and Management), Project Procurement Management, Business Environment in Project Management, Software Development Life Cycle, Requirements Management in ICT Projects).
Additionally, DP Education and the University of Kelaniya are working to develop and launch an open online course in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) specifically for SAP. They are basic courses. ERP Functional Course; ERP Technical Course and ERP BASIS Course
