US President Donald Trump sparked a political fire after posting an AI-generated video depicting former President Barack Obama arrested by FBI agents inside an oval office. The video surfaced with new allegations by National Intelligence Director Tarsi Gabbard, who alleges that Obama and his top intelligence officials produced the story of Trump Russia's conspiracy to destroy the 2016 election results.

The 45-second video posted to Truth Social begins with a montage of Democrats, including Obama, declaring that “no one is beyond the law.” Obama also said, “The president, in particular, is beyond the law.” The footage then moves into a deepfake-style sequence, with an AI-generated Obama handcuffed by an FBI agent in an oval office, playing cards generated and sitting nearby with a smile. The video ends with Obama standing in a prison cell wearing an orange prison jumpsuit, with the song “YMCA” played in the background.

The video was posted without a disclaimer that clarified that it was artificially generated. Critics labelled the move as “deeply irresponsible” and “deliberately inflammatory.”

This post came just after Tulsi Gabbard published over 100 documents. She insists in detail how “rebellious plot” was overseen by Obama a few weeks before he took office. She allegedly skewed the Intelligence News, falsely suggesting that Russia had interfered to help Trump win the 2016 US election.

A former Democrat and 2020 presidential candidate, Gabbard is currently the director of national intelligence under Trump.

“The meaning of this is frankly not historical,” Gabbard said. “Over 100 documents released Friday provide evidence of how this unpleasant plot was directed by President Obama just weeks before he left after President Trump was already elected.”

Gabbard plans to send documents to the Department of Justice and the FBI for criminal referrals. She said the document showed that before the 2016 election there was no evidence of conspiracy with Russia and that the politically motivated actor had created a false intelligence story to harm Trump.

Trump-Russia's theory of conspiracy refers to a widely debated but contested allegation that Trump's 2016 campaign was coordinated with Russian officials to influence the outcome of the US presidential election.

“When Russia produced this manufactured information that it claimed helped Donald Trump get elected, it was contradictory to all other ratings made in the months leading up to the election that Russia had no intention or ability to hack the US election,” she said.

Gabbard called the actions of Obama and his senior national security team “an attempt to overturn the will of the American people, undermine the Democratic Republic, and enact an essentially long-standing coup against President Trump, officially elected by the American people.”

In a post on X, Gabbard wrote: “Americans will ultimately learn the truth about how they were politicized and weaponized by the most powerful people of the Obama administration in 2016, essentially laying the foundation for a long-standing coup against President Donald Trump, destroying the will of the American people, and undermining the Democratic Republican Party.”

She added: “This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. It's a very serious issue and should be relevant to all Americans because it relates to the integrity of our Democratic Republic.”

A 114-page document released by the Director of the National Intelligence Bureau said that before the 2016 election, the intelligence news community evaluated Russia as “probably not attempting to influence elections using cyber means.” The President's daily summary dated December 8, 2016 concluded that Russia “had no impact on recent US election results” by carrying out malicious cyber-activities against the US election infrastructure.

Obama and former officials in his administration have not responded to this claim.
