US President Donald Trump, wearing a white coat and a stethoscope around his neck as he introduces himself as “Dr. Trump,” has released an AI-generated video that depicts celebrity critics as patients suffering from what he calls “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
The clip, which was shared on Trump’s Truth Social platform and later reposted to X by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino Jr., shows an AI-generated version of the president wearing a white coat with “Donald J. Trump, MD” embroidered on it and a stethoscope.
The video, presented like a television medical ad, casts President Trump as a doctor treating a fictitious illness, and is frequently used by the president and his supporters to portray people who appear to have an irrational aversion to the president.
“DR. Trump offers therapy to his critics
The video begins with an AI version of Trump introducing himself to the audience.
“Have you or someone you know been diagnosed with TDS?” AI Trump says.
“Symptoms can be relentless. Fortunately, I’m Dr. Trump and I have a treatment plan.”
The video then cuts to AI-generated versions of several celebrities who have publicly criticized President Trump over the years, depicted as patients being treated for a fictitious illness. It features Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, Robert De Niro, Julia Roberts, Edward Norton, John Leguizamo, and more.
At one point, the AI version of Trump makes a joke about the supposed status of celebrities.
“I wasn’t really sure I could help some of these people. They were far away, so I wasn’t really sure,” he says.
“Stop fake news”
The mock medical ad ends with a simple prescription that Trump explains, generated by AI.
“Turn off the fake news, say a prayer, and when you feel anxious, drink a Diet Coke like I did and you’ll see amazing changes in your life.”
The phrase “Trump Derangement Syndrome” has long been used by Trump, members of his administration and many of his supporters to mock critics who appear to disagree with the president, regardless of the issue at hand.
Latest in AI post series
This isn’t the first time President Trump has used artificial intelligence to create attention-grabbing content.
Earlier this year, he shared an AI-generated image depicting himself as Jesus healing the sick. The image drew criticism from both opponents and some supporters, with some calling it blasphemous. Asked about the post, Trump denied suggestions that it depicted him as Jesus, instead claiming he was portraying himself as a doctor.
A new AI video reinforces that image by depicting him in medical attire throughout the clip.
