DHL Supply Chain is deepening its partnership with AI startup HappyRobot to accelerate the deployment of autonomous AI agents across its global logistics network.
The move is part of DHL Group’s broader company-wide AI strategy, which aims to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer communications and reduce repetitive manual tasks for frontline teams.
HappyRobot agents are already in use in multiple DHL regions, supporting workflows such as appointment scheduling, driver follow-up calls, and high-priority warehouse coordination. Agents autonomously manage phone, email, and messaging interactions, enabling faster, more consistent communication at scale.
Quili Peña, Head of Strategy & Operations at HappyRobot, said the partnership reflects the strong collaboration between the two organizations.
“It was great to collaborate with DHL supply chain leaders on this groundbreaking initiative,” she says. “Their team brought clarity, urgency and a real commitment to making this a reality.”
DHL Supply Chain CIO Sally Miller says the adoption of AI agents is the next step in the company’s structured approach to digital transformation.
“We are now integrating AI agents to make operational roles more engaging and rewarding for employees while improving process efficiency for our customers,” he explained, noting that the technology helps automate tasks such as data entry, scheduling, and daily communication.
The partnership is already targeting “hundreds of thousands of emails and millions of voice messages per year.” HappyRobot product director Yamil Mateo says it was important for DHL to understand the scale of the platform early on.
“It was clear that they wanted a partner with cutting-edge technology and infrastructure,” he says.
Lindsay Bridges, vice president of human resources for DHL Supply Chain, said the technology supports both service quality and employee experience. “AI agents free teams from repetitive, time-consuming tasks and give them the space to focus on meaningful, high-value work,” she says.
DHL and HappyRobot will continue to identify additional use cases as the technology is expanded globally.
