According to Dell Technologies, the first impulse for many artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) model builders and application developers is to look to public cloud services that are easy to use, but cost concerns and existing services There may be integration challenges with system and data.
He further adds that the rise of large-scale language models such as ChatGPT and Bard will require increased computing power and big data sets for AI/ML training. “This raises concerns about cost and privacy, and leads to more companies owning AI/ML operations and management.
“But as organizations build private clouds to address these concerns, they often find they lack the cloud skills to drive the solution at the speed they need.”
To address these and other challenges, the company recently announced three new managed services:
- Dell Managed Developer Cloud: This offering includes self-service virtual machines and containers in an API-based cloud environment with built-in infrastructure management as code. This frees developers from managing infrastructure and allows them to spend more time coding, accelerating innovation.
- Dell Managed Services for ML Ops: Preferred platform for ML model development with “integrated lifecycle management based on Dell validated design”. This reduces the complexity of deploying and maintaining AI/ML systems and allows you to move models into production more quickly. ”
- Colocation with Dell Technologies Services: The offering “simplifies cloud integration, simplifies deployment, and makes operations more efficient.”
“Modern developers spend less than 20% of their time coding,” says Release. “The rest of the time is spent waiting for IT resources and approvals or managing the underlying infrastructure. Many ML projects never make it into production.”
