KUCHING (July 3): President of the Dayak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Dato' Alang Keliping Nangkai said it was very important for businesses to learn about the wider applications of artificial intelligence (AI).
He asserted that in order to be future adaptable, continuous learning and application of AI will be essential for survival, especially in the business environment.
“AI can enhance customer service, streamline options and analyze large databases to help business owners make informed decisions.
“This will greatly benefit people working in various sectors offering opportunities for career advancement. As industries embrace the use of AI, there will be an increased demand for skilled professionals trained in AI.”
“Handling on the power of AI is therefore essential for your future careers,” he said in his opening address at the Gawai Kaamatan Business Forum 2024 at the DCCI Tower in Jalan Ong Thean Swee yesterday.
Meanwhile, the forum featured two sessions on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and AI-Driven Blue Economy Investment Opportunities in Borneo.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the forum served as a platform for businesses from Sarawak and Sabah to collaborate and share the benefits of economic opportunities in Malaysia.
“We are now on the brink of a digital era where leveraging cutting-edge technology is no longer an option but a necessity for organisations, businesses and the public sector to remain competitive and relevant,” Uggah said.
Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) chairman Datuk Ladislaus Marda was also in attendance.
