Dawesome Myth is a new synthesizer plugin (macOS/Windows) with a modular style engine that takes you on a resynthesis journey with support for machine learning.
AI is brought up in every topic. Artificial intelligence is ubiquitous in both consumer technology and music technology. Create entire tracks, duplicate audio, generate images, and more with AI. We believe that AI will also play an important role in the world of synthesizers.
As some of you may know, I'm a big fan of Peter's development at Dawesome. They are innovative and unique and stand out from the crowd in concept and sound. Dawesome is also going the machine learning route with its new synthesizer plugin Myth. Oh, and don't worry, it's not an AI synth.

scary myth
Myth is a new synthesizer plugin. To be precise, this engine is a re-synthesizer, as it is not based on classical oscillators with large amounts of static waves. Instead, the synth uses his two resynthesized audio files visualized as iris. The resynthesis process is supported by advanced machine learning to achieve the best results.
These files can be created by simply dragging and dropping audio into the corresponding oscillator slot. Once this is done, the engine converts the file into a huge variety of sounds. From here you can explore the oscillator using the transformer dial.
Transformers can be used to shape/bend resynthesized samples based on several different principles. For example, you can use brass, saws, strings, and square timbers and treat the audio as if it were created using any of these methods.
You can also load any type of audio, so the spectrum of sounds is infinite compared to traditional oscillators. You can also change playheads, inject different FM types, and explore trajectory modulation.
modular synth
Below you can dive into the second part of the Myth engine. It has the flexibility of a modular synth, but without the hassle of cables. Here you can drop additional oscillators and work with virtual analog filters, effects, etc. The linear left-to-right workflow reminds me of a pedalboard.
This section also contains interesting sound shapers, modulators, and effects. For example, host a resonator that can be trained by dropping samples. Now you have an acoustic resonator with a unique sound. In terms of effects, it offers phasers, cloud reverbs, delays, granulators, and more.
Additionally, the modulation engine is supercharged with tons of advanced LFO, envelope, and MIDI effects. Above that is an arpeggiator.
Peter from Dawesome also implemented a sophisticated randomization system to make sound design easier and more convenient. For example, you can freeze a section to prevent changes, or try out a resynthesized sample in other patches. Peter says it's like wearing a dress over it.
Myth has full MPE and MTS-ESP support, covering all your expressive needs. This plugin comes with his 700+ presets from over 10 sound designers and artists. There's a lot to find out.
New releases of synthesizers come with a lot of marketing blurb about how this instrument will improve everything. Don't worry, same here. However, there is ~. There is some truth in it. Like Novum and Kult, Myth is also a synth from Peter of Dawesome that enhances his plug-in world. It's unique, different, and fun to use.
We'll have to see how far it can go sonically in testing, but what you can hear in the first sound demo so far is very organic and fat.
Tracktion is distributing Dawesome Myth, which is currently available at an initial price of 119 euros instead of 169 euros. Runs as a 64-bit only VST3 and AU plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
