DataStax has agreed to acquire Logspace, the AI startup behind Langflow, an open source visual framework used to build search augmentation generation (RAG) applications.
Langflow is designed to help developers build generative AI applications by using and combining Python-based composable building blocks and a variety of pre-built components.
The open source, low-code product provides a visual-based environment where developers can drag and drop pre-built components, significantly reducing the time it takes to create and deploy LangChain-based applications and languages at scale. The company said it will help. models (LLM) from weeks to minutes.
Langflow's community-based ecosystem builds, shares, and reuses components accessible via the Langflow Store. This allows developers to test, reuse, and share flows to iterate on RAG applications, giving them more control and reducing hallucinations.
By integrating Langflow into its database products, DataStax has created a “one-stop generative AI application stack” that provides flexible deployment options, including integration with DataStax Astra DB, access to a broad collection of Python libraries, and integrations. ” was created. with a rung chain.
Chet Kapoor, CEO and Chairman of DataStax, commented: “We are focused on providing developers with tools that allow them to easily build his RAG applications in the simplest and fastest way.”
“This acquisition is transformational for us and it is transformational for our industry.
“Langflow is an incredibly popular AI startup, and working with them will put us at the heart of all RAG application development. A vibrant ecosystem of building, selling, and reusing components that will shape the next generation of AI applications.”
Founded in 2020 by CEO Rodrigo Nader and CTO Gabriel Luiz Freitas Almeida, Logspace is headquartered in Uberlandia, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and currently has a total of seven staff on its books. The company launched his Langflow in 2023.
DataStax powers AI capabilities
For DataStax, this acquisition marks the latest step in integrating new AI capabilities as organizations increasingly focus on technology that drives growth and profits.
In July 2023, the company added new vector search tools to its Astra DB Database as a Service (DBaaS) platform, built on the open source Apache Cassandra database, to provide long-term memory for AI applications using LLM.
Last November, the company announced RAGStack, a ready-to-use RAG solution designed to simplify and streamline the implementation of RAG applications built on LangChain.
Upon closing its latest acquisition, DataStax said Langflow will continue to operate independently and remain focused on innovating the project through its community of contributors.
“I couldn't be more excited to join the DataStax team and strengthen our ability to grow the Langflow platform and make it available to more researchers, developers, companies, and entrepreneurs working on generative AI applications. ” said Rodrigo Nader, CEO of Langflow.

“With DataStax, we can fully focus on executing our product vision, roadmap, and community collaboration, and have broader integrations across a variety of AI ecosystem projects and products, including more data sources and databases, and models.” We will continue to add more applications and APIs. ”
