Once fully operational, the supercomputing facility's computing power is expected to reach 3,000 petaflops, equivalent to processing approximately 10 billion images per hour.
In its latest budget, the HKSAR Government announced that it would allocate HK$3 billion to help universities, research institutes and enterprises harness the computing power of Cyberport's AISC. The associated facility will strengthen Hong Kong's research and development capabilities in a range of fields, including life and health technologies, AI and data science, advanced manufacturing and new energy technologies. It will also attract start-ups and research talent from mainland China and overseas, further enhancing Hong Kong's strengths in basic research and internationalisation.
