The Crossroads Chamber of Commerce will host a panel discussion on artificial intelligence before the next Business Expo.
Initially focused on Crown Point and Merrillville, the chamber has since expanded its reach to include the entire region and will be hosting the Dean and Barbara White Community Center on May 21 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. 66:00) will host a panel to discuss AI on “Unlocking Tomorrow for Today's Business.” Broadway, Merrillville.
“May 21 is a day that highlights our commitment to empowering Northwest Indiana businesses with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive in today’s dynamic environment,” Crossroads Chamber of Commerce said Dean Patena, chamber president and CEO. “The panel promises to be a significant moment for our community by providing valuable insights, and the exhibition will provide networking opportunities for all attendees.”
Following the panel discussion, a business expo will be held from 1pm to 4pm, giving attendees the opportunity to network and learn about local businesses exhibiting booths. A free business after-hours event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., featuring cocktails, light refreshments, and other networking opportunities.

The AI panel includes Professor Rajan Kini of Indiana University Northwest, Professor Sami Korbotry of Valparaiso University, and Professor Spiros Bamiatsis of Ivy Tech Community College. Discuss the historical roots, current trends, and future of AI. We will specifically focus on how cybersecurity, management information systems and AI can transform business in the future.
The panel will be moderated by Steven Munsterman, president of Cloudbusters, a local company specializing in IT and automation. He said AI is not just a buzzword or a fad.
“It exists as an unstoppable force of global change,” Munensterman said. “Business survival and success depends on embracing and mastering the relentless power of ever-evolving AI.”
The panel will discuss AI and outline some of the opportunities it creates for businesses.
“Over the next 10 years, implementing AI techniques and tools will no longer be an option, but a necessity for the survival of every organization,” Corbotry said. “Rejecting AI in the 2020s is like refusing to use electricity in the 1920s.”
