US – Mobile adoption of AI tools outweighs PC usage, according to a study by media evaluation company ComScore.

In the past three months, the mobile reach of AI tools, including both mobile web and native apps, has dropped by 5.3% to 73.4 million users, while PC usage has declined by 11.1%, according to ComScore.

From November 2024 to June 2025, mobile adoption of AI assistants increased by 82%, with Microsoft Copilot (up 175%), Google Gemini (68%) and Openai ChatGPT (17.9%) being the three fastest-growing brands in mobile from March to June 2025.

The findings come from ComScore's AI Usage Tracker, introduced in May, and measure visits of 117 AI tools across nine categories, PC and mobile.

comScore's audience deduplication and cross-visitor data show that over 85% of top AI assistant users are stuck on one platform, and OpenAI mobile users were considered the most loyal compared to Google and Microsoft users who showed higher platform exploration.

“We're committed to providing a range of services to our customers,” said Smriti Sharma, Senior Vice President Custom IQ at ComScore.

“Major brands position AI assistants as personal, always available companions, with users responding. From voice commands to image input, users are drawn to AI tools that feel native to their mobile environment.”
