Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong recently revealed that 40% of Cryptocurrency Company's daily code is written using artificial intelligence (AI). Sharing a post about Microblog Platform X (formerly Twitter), Armstrong said he hopes to reach nearly 50% by October this year. His posts reflect a wide range of industry trends where tech giants like Microsoft and Google reported 30% and 25% of AI-generated codes, respectively. “~40% of the daily code written in Coinbase is generated by AI. I want to be >50% by October,” he wrote in the post.“Obviously, you need to review and understand that, and not every area of your business can use AI-generated code, but you need to use it as responsibly as possible,” he continued.Brian's remarks with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed earlier this year in a conversation with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg that 30% of the company's code is currently written by artificial intelligence.“I think 20%, 30% of the code inside our report today is probably all written by software,” Nadella said in an interview at Meta's Llamacon AI Developer Event. Similarly, CEO Sundar Pichai said that over 25% of Google's code is currently written by AI. During the company's third quarter revenue call, Pichai said “we are in a unique position to lead the era of AI due to its differentiated, full-stack approach to AI innovation.”In a recent blog post, Coinbase said the company is trying to expand its use and familiarity with AI systems that process and generate human-like content. “If you look inside, you can see that teams who employ LLM at a faster rate are building front-end UI capabilities, manipulating less sensitive data backends, and rapidly expanding their unit test suite,” Coinbase said in a post. Furthermore, the company said that AI adoption has been increasing since it began using Cursor, an AI-powered code editor.
