Claude connects directly to personal apps like Spotify, Uber Eats, and TurboTax

Applications of AI

Claude users now have access to more AI-powered apps from Anthropic thanks to new connectors for everything from hiking to grocery shopping. While Anthropic already supported connecting a number of work-related apps to Claude, including Microsoft apps, this expansion focuses on personal apps such as Audible, Spotify, Uber, AllTrails, TripAdvisor, Instacart, and TurboTax.

Some of these apps, such as Spotify, already have similar connectors to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Once the apps are connected, Claude will suggest related connected apps directly in the conversation, such as using AllTrails for hiking recommendations. Anthropic said in a blog post announcing the new connector: [connected apps] is not used to train the model, and the app is not aware of any other conversations you have with Claude. You can also disconnect at any time. ”

Additionally, Anthropic states that “Conversations with Claude does not have paid referrals or sponsored responses.” If multiple apps appear to be related, Claude will display both results “ranked by most useful.” Claude also asks users to confirm before using the connected app to perform actions such as purchases or reservations.

The new connector is now available on all Claude plans. Users can browse or add apps in Claude by selecting Connectors in the Customize tab of the Claude sidebar.
