Chinese company abandons human creativity for ChatGPT-style AI

In news creatives don’t want to hear, the Chinese media and public relations giant has ditched human copywriters and graphic designers in favor of artificial intelligence.

In an internal staff memo that reported seeing(opens in new window) According to Bloomberg News, Bluefocus Intelligent Communications Group Co. says it will use generative AI models like ChatGPT instead of external copywriters and creatives.

The memo reads: “To embrace the new wave of AI-generated content, we have decided to stop all spending on third-party copywriters and designers starting today.”

According to Bloomberg, the $3 billion company has reached out to Alibaba Group Holding and Baidu to seek to license its AI technology.

Bluefocus did not immediately respond to PCMag’s request for comment.
