A major breakthrough in securing commitments was made during Pakistan's visit to China by the Prime Minister and Federal Ministers to attract investments in various sectors. Federal Commission of Investment, Communications and Privatisation Minister Abdul Aleem Khan held key talks with China's CZK Huarui Group in Beijing on Saturday.
Khan assured the Chinese authorities of a favorable investment environment in Pakistan and stressed the importance of strong trade ties between neighbouring countries like China and Pakistan and the positive impact such trade ties have on the region.
CZK Huarui Group's Chairman Liu Yafei, General Manager Li Shunsha, Mr. Dong Daxiao, Mr. Chen Wenlong and Ms. Shi Jie assured the Pakistani delegation that the group will play a major role in expanding import-export activities in Pakistan. They also stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation in industrial-academic research and asset management.
Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, who was present at the meeting, assured the Chinese authorities of full cooperation on trade issues and appreciated China's interest in making large-scale investments in Pakistan.
In a separate meeting, a delegation from Tangshan Donghua Steel Group met with Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and discussed investment opportunities in various sectors, including Pakistan Steel Mills and steel industry. Mr. Luo Shu, Senior Advisor to Chairman of Donghua Group, briefed Minister Khan on the group's investment potential in Pakistan and discussed bilateral trade issues.
These meetings underscore continuing efforts to strengthen economic ties between Pakistan and China and boost bilateral trade and investment.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Power Awais Leghari met with Jengo Lee, Managing Director of Longi Green Energy Technology Ltd, the world's largest solar photovoltaic manufacturing company. During the meeting, Leghari briefed the company about Pakistan's solar power capacity and ongoing efforts to increase the share of renewable energy in the country's energy mix.
“Pakistan is rapidly increasing the share of renewable energy in its energy mix,” Leghari said, highlighting the country's commitment to sustainable energy sources.
Jengo Lee expressed Longi Green's commitment to supporting the growth of solar power in Pakistan and assured cooperation and support to advance solar power efforts in the country.
Leghari invited Longi Green Energy Technologies to set up a solar power manufacturing plant in Pakistan and stressed the mutual benefits of such ventures.
The meeting highlighted Pakistan's efforts to strengthen its renewable energy infrastructure and the potential for international collaboration to achieve this goal.
