BEIJING, June 5 (Xinhua) — The second China-Russia Library Forum, focusing on the application of artificial intelligence in libraries, concluded in Beijing on Wednesday.
The two-day forum, co-hosted by the National Library of China and the National Library of Russia, featured in-depth exchange of information and discussion on “specialized libraries,” “document preservation and protection,” “social public services,” and “smart libraries.”
Vadim Duda, director of the Russian National Library, said that digital transformation in the library sector is not a passing fad, but a prerequisite for success.
Chen Ying, deputy director of the National Library of China, said, “Faced with users' information needs and reading service scenarios becoming increasingly diverse and complex, libraries need to think more deeply about how to make use of modern advanced technologies.”
The first China-Russia Library Forum was held in July 2023 in Moscow.
