Google CEO Sundar Pichai shared an Instagram post where cricket meets code. Pichai visits Google India Gurugram office and teams up with cricketers Shubman Gill. Pichai, a cricket enthusiast, expressed his gratitude to local “Googlers” for their warm welcome.“My favorite part of traveling anywhere is spending time with Googlers from all over the world,” Pichai wrote, adding, “It’s even more true when Shubman Gill is there too. Thank you, Google India, for having me.” Google India responded, “We didn’t know we needed Collab.” The company also shared a number of short videos about Pichai’s India trip on both X and Instagram.
Google’s ‘full stack’ approach
While there were light-hearted moments during the trip, Pichai’s visit to India was focused on a larger mission: ensuring India leads the next era of artificial intelligence. He urged all AI technology leaders to come together to address the world’s problems through AI.“It was a personal honor for me to speak at the India AI Action Summit today. AI can improve billions of lives and solve some of science’s toughest problems. The best outcomes from AI are not guaranteed. We must boldly pursue AI, approach it responsibly, and work together in this moment,” he said in a post on X earlier this week.
Sundar Pichai praises Pax Silica’s efforts
Speaking at a special event to mark India’s participation in the Pax Silica Initiative, a US-led partnership to secure global technology supply chains, Pichai hailed the collaboration as “crucial” for the future.“We are on the cusp of an era of advanced progress and new discoveries, but the best outcome is not guaranteed. “We must work together to ensure that the benefits of AI are available to everyone, everywhere,” he said, according to news agency ANI.“We believe India is on an extraordinary trajectory with AI, and we are supporting it with a full-stack commitment that includes products, scalability, and infrastructure. We are committed to building AI products and solutions for Indian consumers and businesses, and we are empowering India’s amazing developer community. We have already delivered 22 Gemma models to AI coaches. “We are bringing real-world impact to AI applications by working closely with governments to provide farmers with timely monsoon forecasts and helping healthcare workers screen for diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and making information and services accessible in more languages. Our current work extends to rethinking the products people use every day,” Pichai added.
