Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on Wednesday praised China's contribution to open source artificial intelligence, calling it “a catalyst for global advancement” during his speech at a Beijing exposition.“China's open source AI is a catalyst for global advancement, giving every country and industry the opportunity to participate in the AI revolution,” he said, highlighting the efforts of Chinese AI startup DeepSeek, AFP reported.“AI is transforming everything from scientific research and healthcare to energy, transportation and logistics,” he added.Huang praised China's “ultra-fast” innovation driven by researchers, developers and entrepreneurs, highlighting the country's growing role in global AI development. The exposition is part of Beijing's push to establish himself as a defender of free trade, in contrast to the trade tensions and rising tariffs under US President Donald Trump.Huang's comments came when Nvidia announced it would resume sales of its H20 AI chips to China. These chips were specifically designed to meet US export restrictions, but delivery was delayed after Washington tightened its licensing rules in April.Nvidia said Tuesday that the US government has ensured that the company's license will be granted. “The US government has assured NVIDIA that the license will be granted, and Nvidia hopes to begin deliveries soon,” the company said, confirming that it is “submitting an application to sell the Nvidia H20 GPU again.”The announcement has brought the Nasdaq to a new record and has also attracted Hong Kong technology stocks, bringing up the high-tech market worldwide. Huang's arrival also saw Nvidia temporarily become the world's first $4 trillion company due to market value earlier this week. The development has had a positive impact on technology stock globally as the Nasdaq reaches new heights and the Hong Kong market is making significant profits.
