OpenAI reported this month that non-developers make up about 20% of Codex’s 5 million weekly users and are deploying coding agents three times faster than engineers.
For Adisorn Ratanakovit, founder and CEO of enterprise AI automation platform Complete.dev, the data supports what he founded the company about three years ago. That means business users, not just engineers, will always be a bigger market for coding agents.
The problems behind it are well known. The request goes to IT, joins the engineering backlog, and arrives months later, if at all. Complete.dev’s premise is that coding agents are run by people who understand the process, and their timelines can be collapsed into the same day.
