At Business Insider, we've been experimenting with AI and finding ways to use it more efficiently and effectively. Journalists across the newsroom have been working on AI sprints and sharing their feedback. Thank you for your participation and comments.
Today, we're launching one of these experiments: a new pilot phase to help you publish quick news articles using custom GPT. We trained this custom GPT to create stories written in our style and built from our own reporting, using only selected articles from our archives along with the news. These articles are edited by Business Insider editors.
During this month-long pilot, we aim to publish several articles per day using this tool. These articles will have an AI signature and a disclosure that says they were created by AI and edited by humans. This label may be reviewed over time.
Once the pilot is complete, evaluate the results and consider next steps. Consider next steps. How could the tool be further improved? How might different teams use it in the future? And could it free up staff to spend more time doing the kind of work that leads to outstanding and impactful journalism?
