As AI and innovative technology put an even more edge in the fashion industry, Browzwear, a digital product creation specialist, has acquired Lalaland.ai, a manufacturer of AI-generated fashion models.
The deal expands Browzwear's artificial intelligence capabilities and expands Lalaland.ai's reach. The financial conditions for the transaction have not been disclosed.
Speculation and H&M have recently attracted attention, and have made some criticisms for using AI-generated models in their respective ad campaigns, but Lalaland.AI debuted an AI-generated fashion model in 2019, explaining that “there is a possibility that perfect realism can be achieved without a camera.” The company creates a variety of models based on demographics and different body types.
Some people try to reduce costs, pay and overhead as designers, manufacturers and retailers merge physical and digital processes. Others are trying to use more innovative technologies to engage with consumers in a variety of ways to improve product development and quality. On July 24th, Google will debut AI features for US users to virtually try on clothes, via billions of apparel styles, through search, Google Shopping, and even product results in Google images.
Based in Amsterdam, Lalaland.ai aims to provide users with faster design-to-market turnaround time, reduce physical sampling, reduce waste for sustainability, and match Browzwear's mission to help customers “Trust your twins, approve them, and have them. “Browzwear, founded in Singapore, has an international office in New York.
That concept doesn't always work with shoppers. After Speculation recently ran a two-page ad on Vogue, it was “produced by Seraphinne Vallora in AI,” which has weighed on some critics. Earlier this month, H&M used the generator AI to drop the first set of images featuring digital twins set against the fashion capital. Mangos also used AI to generate models and campaigns.
In a statement, Michael Musandu, founder and CEO of Lalaland.ai, said: “We can expand our mission to make fashion more inclusive, sustainable and lightning so that we can instantly access Browzwear's large customer base, helping Browzwear become the industry's first true AI first platform.”
Next, Greg Hanson, CEO of Browzwear said: “Customers want absolute confidence in digital twins. They trust the overcharging of Lalaland's hyper-realistic, diverse AI models, dramatically reducing the time between concepts and commerce.”
As part of the deal, the rest of Musandu and his technical team are brought in in-house, so Lalaland.ai's AI scientists and engineers are working with generative models, automated image pipelines and other aspects in conjunction with Browzwear's research and development. The increased 3D-AI automation is designed to speed up Browzwear's efforts to become a “digital two-win idea in minutes.”
Digital product creation platform Browzwear strives to fashion brands and manufacturers to speed up the way clothing is designed, developed and products are designed accurately.
