Rather than focusing on the investors involved, Huang sees the moment as unexpected given his initial skepticism about the company's prospects. “When we started, people told me there was no way we could compete with established multibillion-dollar companies, that we were moving too slowly in higher education, and that we would never be able to get our employee teams to adopt collaborative AI.”
According to Huang, progress has come not through speed or scale, but through engagement. “Then something amazing happened. Educators showed up. Students showed up. Professionals embraced it. They didn't just use BoodleBox, they shaped it.”
The goal is collaboration between humans and AI
At the heart of Huang's message is a clear distinction between using AI to replace jobs and using AI to augment human thinking. He wrote that the funding means “we can build a future where AI augments human potential, rather than replacing it.”
He added that the goal is not just AI adoption, but collaboration. “This means that students and workers don’t just learn how to use AI, they learn to collaborate with it in ways that make their thinking sharper, their creativity deeper, and their impact greater.”
Huang pointed to the platform's current reach as evidence of demand for its approach, noting that “more than 70,000 learners and workers across more than 1,200 campuses and hundreds of organizations are becoming AI-enabled” as the economy shifts to new forms of human and AI work.
Credit is shared with educators, students, and teams
A significant portion of Hoang's post is dedicated to thanking those who helped shape the product in its early stages. “Hundreds of you gave us feedback, pushing us, challenging us, and making us better,” he wrote, referring to the educators, students, and professionals who engaged with the platform.
He also credits his internal team and early supporters. “To our team, you've worked nights and weekends through doubt and exhaustion to build something that not only gives people access to AI, but makes AI better. That's what it's all about.”
Mr. Huang concluded by emphasizing the company's fundamental purpose. “We're not building BoodleBox to automate humans. We're building it to skill every learner and worker for the AI opportunities that are emerging today – opportunities that require human judgment, human creativity, and human excellence powered by AI.”
