Bing’s AI Chatbot Gets Video Answers And More New Features

Microsoft’s Bing Chatbot has many new features to make it more useful and accessible to more people.

The company announced Thursday that it will move from text-only search and chat to a more multimodal approach that will offer rich image and video answers in the near future. Bing can already generate images based on text prompts, but this feature will allow bots to display images and videos when answering queries or having empty conversations. According to Microsoft, this visual information includes charts and graphs. Image generation has also been enhanced and launched in over 100 new languages.

Microsoft also removed training wheels and gave chatbots multi-session memory. Since launch, users have been bound to a certain number of chat her prompts until the bot resets and loses all memory of previous conversations. You can now search your entire chat history and, more importantly, Bing will slowly personalize your chats by incorporating the context of previous conversations. After all, if a chatbot wants to help you, it probably knows you.

Other smaller improvements include the ability to export chat logs to social media, improved summaries, and the option to upload videos to find relevant content on the web. According to Microsoft, this is just the beginning. The company says it will make weekly changes to its chatbot by incorporating the most requested features and updates and “adding new experiences.”
