Congress president for social media and digital platforms Supriya Srinath said it is clear from the video that the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are “mass murderers”. She asked if courts and other institutions were closed.
The Congress party in Kerala asked why the Bharatiya Janata Party posted about “this genocide of Muslims” on the occasion of Mr. Modi’s visit to Malaysia, “at a time when we are enjoying the warm hospitality of the Muslim leadership”.
“The Bharatiya Janata Party has lost all pretense that it has begun to publicly commit minority genocide, and that too when the Prime Minister, under constitutional oath, has shown that he is going to shoot Muslims dead!”, the Congress of Kerala has clarified.
The Trinamool Congress’s Assam unit said, “Imagine an elected chief minister of a state miming firing at point-blank ranges at Muslims in a party video so vile that it has to be removed after intense backlash.” This is what @himantabiswa and @BJP4Assam have brought down to this point in Indian politics: histrionic murder, normalized hatred, and televised dehumanization of Muslims.
Lawyer and activist Prashant Bhushan said the Supreme Court should fully approve the video and hold the BJP member who uploaded it accountable.
“This is a serious criminal act. If rebels set up such posts, they will be jailed under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act),” he said.
