Beam AI, powered by Attentive.ai, announces the launch of BIM CoPilot. It is a human-vetted, multi-trade BIM management solution that helps contractors transform design documents into coordinated 3D models, conflict-free documents, and constructable drawing sets.

This release marks a major expansion as Beam AI moves beyond pre-construction and deeper into the construction lifecycle. Beam AI is already trusted by more than 1,200 contractors and suppliers across the U.S. and Canada for AI-based takeoff, estimating, and bid management.

Beam AI supports both a 100% automated Done-for-you (DFY) workflow for QA-checked takeoffs and quotations across 15 or more transactions, and a 10-minute do-it-yourself (DIY) workflow for HVAC and plumbing takeoffs.

For Beam AI, expansion into BIM has been long overdue. With BIM CoPilot, the biggest benefit for contractors is that they have a dedicated BIM team to manage the modeling and coordination process from 2D PDF or CAD files.

As contractors increased their ability to bid and win more jobs, they also needed stronger support for construction. Coordinating deals, resolving conflicts, creating field-ready documentation, and continuously moving the project from drawing to installation became the next major bottleneck. BIM CoPilot was built to solve that problem.

What problems does BIM CoPilot solve?

Commercial projects require mechanical systems, piping, conduits, structural elements, and architectural details to work together. Otherwise, contractors often discover problems on site. That’s where BIM CoPilot comes in.

BIM CoPilot helps contractors identify and resolve conflicts in coordinated digital models before they become inevitable and costly field issues. Instead of managing cut-off drawings, alignment gaps, and last-minute design conflicts, contractors now have ready-to-build models and drawing sets that field teams can actually build.

With BIM CoPilot, contractors provide design documents (usually 2D PDF or CAD files) and Beam AI’s expert BIM team manages the modeling and coordination process from there. The team develops coordinated 3D models, resolves trade disputes across major building systems, and delivers ready-to-build drawing sets to support field installation.

The workflow is simple. Design documents are input, a calibrated 3D model is created, and a construction-ready output is generated.

How does BIM CoPilot work?

BIM CoPilot is built around a structured coordination process that guides projects from early design documentation to ready-to-build execution.

This process includes data collection, model federation, clash detection, resolution and adjustment, and finally delivery of the adjusted model. Each stage is managed by Beam AI’s BIM team, which acts as an extension of the contractor.

This service covers 3D modeling across MEP, architecture, and structural transactions, as well as constructability reviews, sheet and BOQ generation, Revit family creation, as-built modeling, and post-construction handover support. Contractors only need to share project documentation, while Beam AI’s BIM engineers work as an extension of the team to model, coordinate, document, and manage the final deliverables.

Contractors don’t need to log into a new platform or build workflows from scratch. They hand over project documentation, and Beam AI’s BIM engineers manage the modeling, coordination, conflict resolution, documentation, and final deliverables.

The service is built on globally recognized BIM frameworks, including ISO 19650, AIA BIM standards, NBIMS-US v4, and LOD specifications.

BIM CoPilot is available as a standalone project-based service

BIM CoPilot is now available to all construction teams as a standalone project-based service. Existing Beam AI customers can add BIM CoPilot to their current preconstruction workflows, while new customers can use it independently for BIM modeling, coordination, and construction documentation.

With this release, Beam AI now supports contractors in both aspects of the project lifecycle. These are the pre-construction phase, when teams need quick start-up, estimating, and bid management, and the construction phase, when they need coordinated models, friction-free documentation, and field-ready drawing sets.

This means contractors can streamline pre-construction and support construction under one roof.

Pricing is determined based on project scope, complexity, transaction scope, and coordination requirements.
