The Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) has highlighted the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technologies for businesses and urged their responsible implementation to improve innovation, productivity and competitiveness.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a seminar titled “AI and Blockchain: Transforming Business and Industry.” According to a BCCCI press release, ‘and Trade’ was held today (July 18) at its Gulshan office, bringing together business leaders, chamber members, technical experts and media representatives.
Speaking at the opening session, BCCCI Chairman Mohd Khorshed Alam said the seminar aims to encourage chamber members to better understand the applications of AI and blockchain and leverage the technology to enhance their business performance.
“The introduction of AI and blockchain has the potential to significantly increase innovation, productivity and competitiveness across industries,” he said.

The keynote speech was delivered by fellow Chartered Accountant and University of Bradford graduate Khondkar Atiq-e-Rabbani, who shared insights into current and future applications of AI and blockchain in business and trade.
The presentations were followed by an interactive discussion where participants shared their views on the ethical and responsible use of AI and its impact on business, finance, logistics and employment.
Participants also shared practical examples of AI applications in banking, trade and port operations, highlighting the need to balance innovation with responsible implementation.
Concluding the program, BCCCI reaffirmed its commitment to organize more knowledge sharing initiatives aimed at promoting innovation and strengthening business and trade cooperation between Bangladesh and China.
