
Baidu has rebuilt its search platform using artificial intelligence (AI) and has introduced the most features over the years. This includes enhanced query processing capabilities, including text, video, and more, as well as multimodal input.
The changes focus on making mobile apps more like AI chatbots, with less in natural language searches and keywords for text, images and voice.
With the attachment of competitive pressures from Google's Gemini and AI modes, Microsoft's Copilot, Bytedance's Doubao, Tencent's Yuanbao, and many other conversational AI systems, Baidu's mobile applications now function similarly to other intelligent assistants. Supports the ability to create content, visual design, and coordinate daily activities.
The interface, released on Wednesday, supports voice commands and visual search capabilities in dialects from various regions of China.

Online marketing revenue has declined over several quarters. In the first quarter of 2025, online marketing revenue was $2.21 billion (Ryuan 16 billion), down 6% year-on-year. For the full year of 2024, online marketing revenues were $100 billion (Ryuan 73 billion), down 3% year-on-year.
Search engine changes involve the release of image-to-video models called MuseSteamer, which converts static images into dynamic video content with clips of up to 10 seconds.
The company offers three layers for business users: turbo, pro and light configurations. The options are for businesses and there is no immediate plan to make it available to the public.
Earlier this year, Baidu announced the release of two AI model upgrades: Ernie 4.5 and Ernie X1, AI focused on reasoning designed for deep thinking.
