Australia and Canada are increasing cooperation on AI safety through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by Assistant Secretary Charlton at the AI Summit in India and formalized in the Australia-Canada Joint Statement.
This memorandum will deepen information exchange regarding AI technology. Collaboration makes AI safer through assessment, measurement, and mitigation.
The two countries will exchange talent and collaborate on developing tools, methodologies, and frameworks for testing and evaluating AI across the lifecycle of AI systems.
As founding members of the International Network for Advanced AI Measurement, Evaluation and Science, Australia and Canada have led efforts to reduce risks from AI-generated content.
