A man was arrested in Assam's Tinskia district as he allegedly created and circulated pornographic content generated by AI using morphed photos of women. The arrest came after complaints filed by the victim, police said Sunday.

The woman was in the spotlight recently after she accidentally suggested that she had joined the American adult film industry after taking a photo of her appearing online.
The accused tracked the Instagram page and arrested him.
Police followed the Instagram page mentioned in the complaint and found the linked phone number, which was led by the accused. Agarwal said, “The accused used photographs of women to generate multiple indecent and porn videos using AI software.”
The two were previously acquaintances and the accused allegedly committed the act on personal reasons.
The obscene content was monetized and the accused won 100,000 rupees
Initially intended as a form of harassment, the crime took a more serious turn when the accused began monetizing the content. “There was a subscription link to the adult content he posted. He got about 10 laks from there,” Agarwal said.
Police believe that greed has encouraged him to continue creating and distributing content. The accused, a certified mechanical engineer, was arrested Saturday night.
Police are paying attention to social media
Police seized several digital devices, including laptops, cell phones and hard drives. Several agencies are expected to support the investigation of digital evidence as part of their investigation.
Agarwal urged the public to confirm the credibility of online content before sharing. “People need to be more responsible when accessing and transferring information on social media,” she said.
