Taylor Swift once said, “You deserve to own the art you made.” Apparently, that doesn't apply to the millions of artists who have supplied their work to the generative AI tool, Data Wood Chipper. In preparation for the release of the world's biggest pop star's latest album, “Life of a Showgirl,” fans were treated to Easter egg videos designed to build hype. Instead, the keen eyed Swift began to find what appears to be an AI-generated image within the teaser video, and began to make a perfect, quick prediction of the situation.
The suspect's generation AI material appeared in a series of short promotional videos. These videos were accessed through QR codes posted to 12 orange doors in 12 different cities. Videos originally uploaded via YouTube shorts are no longer available, but Gizmodo has been reviewed as reploads found online. Each video featured letters that when combined, provided the phrase “You have to remember everything, but mostly the crowd is your king.” But the mystery of Taylor's King becoming more interested is, “Why are some of these videos a little farther away?”
No one at Swift's Camp has confirmed in any way the use of generated AI in the promotional videos, but it certainly does exist on the screen enough to generate doubt. Users pointed out clipping and missing images in several videos suggesting that what you're looking at is created with the generated AI. According to a Tennessee report that revealed the orange door that appeared in Nashville, the video appears to be part of a partnership with Google. Gizmodo contacted Google for comments about his involvement in the video, but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
This is AI. Watch the hanger disappear randomly

Others are calling on them to have some lettering that appears in different shots with distinct AI-generated qualities. For example, the treadmill that appears in one video has buttons read as “MOP”, “Suop”, and “Ncline”, with curved and blurry characters suggesting that the button has more than wear or tear. Another image, the notebook, appears to include makeup lettering that humans are unlikely to make because of the fact that they know what the letters are.
She definitely approved this as this is AI + Taylor is a powerful woman who empowers all aspects of her art (music, promotion, etc.). pic.twitter.com/mckplsduxw

Not a criticism of Taylor herself, but her team/company… This treadmill lettering is a very well known indicator of AI-generated text. pic.twitter.com/qcdzockfw

Generation AI systems are well known for their infamous text generation. This is because these systems are trained with large data and images containing text, but the model does not have a concept of what it actually “sees.” This is why generative AI models can spit out clocks and images of clocks, but it is often difficult to display a particular time because they don't know how to communicate time to the model. I know that in the clock there are lines that mark time rather than those lines actually show.
The contradiction was surprisingly common throughout the video. Viewers pointed out the number of squirrels that appear to transform into chipmunks at one point, and the number of lamps that appear in another shot. The Swift Diehards were particularly attacked by the AI-generated versions of the piano and guitar used on Swift's Eras tour.
Generic AI does not appear to be used to create music videos for Swift for new albums, and does not indicate that generic AI was used in feature films released to mark the release of records. Gizmodo contacted the Taylor Swift representative and contacted Rodrigo Prieto, the cinematographer of “Taylor Swift: The Showgirl's Official Release Party.” None of the people who studied abroad in the records at the time of publication.
On that face, this looks like a pretty big blunder. You can't tell superfans who think that every word you're talking about and the images you posted contain secret messages to look for clues in the AI-generated video. But hey, are these strange anomalies just part of another Easter egg's reveal?
