Artificial Intelligence: Promises, Challenges, Meanings

Machine Learning

From steam engines to electricity to the digital revolution, human history has witnessed an astounding journey of human development through a series of industrial revolutions. We are currently in the pain of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, where the convergence of physical, digital and biological systems fundamentally changes the way we live, work and interactions. We are now in an age where human intelligence is embedded in machines called artificial intelligence (AI). This is not just a technological change, it is a deep evolution of human experience, where machines are not just tools, but intelligent partners. AI performs tasks that were once considered to be the sole realm of human intelligence. Over the past decade, AI and machine learning (ML) have brought about groundbreaking transformations around the world. It is reshaping society, economy and governance, and continues to influence the future of humanity in all industries.

From chatbots and voice assistants like Siri and Alexa to platforms like Netflix, YouTube and Amazon, and now advanced AI models like ChatGPT, new innovations and advances are constantly emerging in the scene. From writing and coding to disease diagnosis, AI is amazed in a variety of areas: healthcare, education, finance, agriculture and governance. ML is used to study diseases for drug discovery and to identify new materials in next-generation electronic devices. AI-algorithms analyzes medical images to detect diseases such as cancer early on. In education, an AI-driven platform offers personalized learning. Agriculture helps optimize agriculture, improve crop yields and reduce consumption. AI is the driving force behind real-time understanding and translation of self-driving cars, humanoid robots, IoT, and various languages. Solve complex real-world problems and gained superiority to humans in various games

Engineering Marvel works by collecting, processing and learning from a vast amount of data. Data is collected from a variety of sources, including sensors, cameras, microphones, GPS, temperature monitors, stored databases, and even remote cloud inputs. It is then analyzed using algorithms to identify patterns, identify periodic trends or behaviors, make decisions, and predict results based on generated insights. A software execution algorithm that tells the computer what steps to take to produce results. For example, in self-driving cars, cameras, radars, maps, and traffic plans provide data that is analyzed and whose actions are retrieved in real time. With significant improvements in storage, processing power and analytical technology, AI systems are extremely refined in analytical and decision-making.

The rapidly developing unprecedented power of AI has sparked both curiosity and concern around the world. As technology grows smarter and faster, most traditional careers are becoming more and more automated, threatening to drive millions of jobs away in the near future. Countries with primarily low-skilling roles can face significant unemployment, although countries like the US, China, European countries, Japan and India with strong education and advanced technology and industrial infrastructure, are better equipped to utilize the AI age. Leading by a robust talent pool, vast data resources and support policies focused on AI integration and reskilling forces across all sectors, India is rapidly emerging as an AI powerhouse.

According to Bill Gates, three different employment coders, energy experts and biologists are likely to survive the AI revolution because they are creative jobs. To accommodate the rapidly evolving AI, people need to go through a constant cycle of learning, learning and relearning. Only then can it be related to a new and evolving employment environment.

The second biggest concern with AI systems is that they can manipulate with incorrect data to produce the desired results. Researchers warn that they can learn unnecessary and unexpected behavior from the vast amount of data analyzed by AI, generating dishonest, biased and other toxic information. Images, videos, and recordings can be superimposed on target files to change the reality that adds to confusion and uncertainty. This can cause serious and unexpected problems, especially in sensitive areas such as healthcare, finance, news, and public policy.

Bad actors actively utilize AI systems to create deepfakes, launch cyber attacks, and manipulate public opinion on a large scale. The main academic concern is the intellectual contributions, particularly the AI's ability to direct scientific research papers to science integrity and serious threats to the future. Humans working closely with robots are subject to constant threats due to some degree of manipulation or malfunction, and sometimes chatbots encourage people for suicide. AI models show behavior that lies or threatens the creator to achieve their goals.

Given the historical tendencies of humanity, especially those with power and resources, there is a real fear that this technology could be misused. Hybrid warfare, such as traditional military tactics and non-military methods, such as cyber attacks, launches misinformation, economic pressure and political influences to destabilize the enemy without a full-scale war. Scenarios in which AI controls military systems, dangerous technologies such as nuclear fission, fusion, some malfunctions, and misuse can cause nuclear war that wipes out all life on Earth.

Popular science fiction moviesThe Terminator “combines technology, free will, action on the future of humanity, suspense and deep philosophical questions. It serves as a powerful warning about what will happen if AI exceeds human control. In 2014, Stephen Hawking told the BBC “The development of full artificial intelligence could end the end of race.” Voices around the world are those who are creating their own masters that encourage AI to be firmly controlled, not allowed to gain an advantage over humanity, and not to allow powerful algorithms to determine our destiny.

As AI continues to permeate our lives and become more intelligent and autonomous, it is important to recognize that AI systems do not have a true understanding of facts. The response is generated from a previously existing information or data modification. Thinking that AI will stumble upon a new science that has stumbled upon the theory of relativity will be a fantasy. True knowledge is built on curiosity, integrity and rigorous research rather than shortcuts or manufacturing. The big concern is that if we rely too much on machines, we may lose the ability to think.

The new age of AI has great potential to shape human civilization. It is set to drive a new era of computation, allowing quantum computing to take innovation to another level. It has emerged as an important driver of economic growth and is expected to create more jobs than evacuation. To remain competitive in this evolving landscape, we need to adapt, learn and embrace these new technologies. Given its enormous potential and various concerns and challenges, it is essential that we move forward with caution and responsibility, and ensure that appropriate regulations are in place and ethical concerns are clearly addressed.
