Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Aramex, a leading global provider of Logistic and Transportation Solutions, has launched an innovative AI-generated campaign to educate customers on identifying fraud. Timely social media videos directly address the surprising rise in scams, including targeting Middle Eastern customers, including pre-holiday season parcel delivery scams.
Using AI, generate fake Aramex branding along with real company materials, campaign videos teach customers how to distinguish between legal communications and know when they're being scamed. This innovative approach transforms serious security concerns into an engaging and educational experience that resonates with today's digitally savvy consumers.
Scam incidents are surged in major markets, including the UAE, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, reflecting the broader global trends affecting customers of all major brands. Aramex customers regularly receive fraudulent SMS messages, emails and social media communications from fraudsters who are impersonating the company, often requesting payments and asking for personal information through unverified links (phishing). In fact, cybersecurity providers support AG's annual market report[1] We highlight the surprising surge in phishing and spoofing attacks – accounting for 90% of cybersecurity incidents in 2024.
Mike Rich, Alamex group CMO “With fraud targeting an industry with increasing volume and refinement, traditional recognition methods have not only been shaping noise. We hope that our educating recognition content will help our customers identify the red flag of the con artist, as agriculture is consistent in fraudulent communication tactics, regardless of the target brand.”
Shahir Sirry, Global Creative Director, Aramexexplained the creative rationale. “Cheaters are a better way to emphasize this over intentionally artificial content, in order to deceive customers using increasingly artificial and fake methods. Irony is intentional and therefore more powerful. Base.”
Aramex highlights three important safety measures to help customers stay safe.
- confirm: Always make sure your communication comes from the official Aramex channel before taking any action. Please check sender details for verified company sources, official website links, and contact information.
- Payment Security: Please do not pay for the service via unverified SMS or links received via WhatsApp messages. Ideally, secure transactions should always use the official Aramex mobile application and emails should come from @aramex.com.
- Beware: Apply the same verification criteria to social media competition and promotions. Legitimate campaigns are always verifiable through official Aramex social channels.
Since the video was aired, official Aramex mobile application downloads have skyrocketed by 28%, providing the safest way to track freight, pay and access to customer service.
AI-generated Awareness videos will be available across Aramex's official social media channels and will be supported through comprehensive digital marketing campaigns throughout 2025.
