APSCHE organizes faculty training program for specialized AI applications

Applications of AI

The AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) will be organizing a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on ‘Sector-Specific Applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI)’ for faculty members of degree and professional colleges in Andhra Pradesh from March 2.

The event will be held at the Executive Education Cell, Faculty of Management, University of Hyderabad. FDP is being implemented in collaboration with Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and Andhra Pradesh State University Education Board, with financial support from Rashtriya Uchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (Russia).

According to a statement issued by APSCHE Secretary B. Tirupati Rao on Saturday (February 28), the program aims to build conceptual clarity and practical understanding of artificial intelligence among faculty from diverse academic disciplines, in line with the vision of NEP-2020 and Vikshit Bharat 2047.

This intensive training program is designed to equip teachers with domain-specific no-code and low-code AI applications, enabling them to integrate AI tools and data-driven approaches into their teaching, research, and curriculum delivery. FDP covers multiple academic streams including commerce and management, life sciences, physical sciences, social sciences, humanities, and computer science related fields.

The program structure includes theoretical sessions, hands-on lab activities, case studies, and tool-based demonstrations, focusing on key areas such as AI ecosystems, platforms, edge AI, data types, repositories, ethics, and responsible AI. AI data pipeline: collection, annotation, cleaning, and preprocessing. AI applications in agriculture, biotechnology, ecology, commerce, finance, human resources, marketing, public policy, arts, and sciences. Get hands-on experience with widely used AI tools and public datasets without the need for coding expertise.

This FDP is designed to provide faculty at degree and professional schools across Andhra Pradesh with cutting-edge AI tools, real-world applications, and interdisciplinary insights that bridge science, technology, and pedagogy. Around 200 faculty members will be trained at the University of Hyderabad.

APSCHE reaffirmed its commitment to developing faculty capacity, promoting future-ready higher education, and fostering interdisciplinary AI literacy to prepare students for new technological and societal challenges.
