According to a Bloomberg report published on Monday, Apple's new artificial intelligence features will not be released in time for the first release of software updates for iPhones and iPads, but will instead be introduced in October.
The company reportedly separated the Apple Intelligence features from the initial iOS release due to stability concerns and the need for more extensive testing.
Apple previously said that a beta version of the AI feature would be released this fall, which is expected to help boost sales of the company's new iPhones. The feature will only work on iPhone 15 Pro and newer models. Some of the promised Apple Intelligence features, including ChatGPT integration and Siri improvements, are expected to be released later this year.
According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to give developers early access to Apple Intelligence in the iOS 18.1 beta as early as this week.
The company first unveiled Apple Intelligence on June 10. The AI feature, which will be available on all Macs and iPads with the M1 chip or later, can proofread your text, rewrite it in a friendly or professional tone, create custom emoji, and summarize or transcribe phone calls.
