Apple could launch new iPhones, AI glasses and more in 2026 and 2027: Here’s what you can expect

AI News

Apple may be gearing up for a busy few years. The tech giant is reportedly planning a slew of new products that could arrive between 2026 and 2027, including a foldable iPhone, AI-powered glasses, upgraded AirPods, Macs, iPads, and smart home devices. If these plans come to fruition, the company’s upcoming lineup could be one of the most ambitious in the company’s history. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Garman, the lineup could include products Apple has never released before, such as smart glasses, AirPods with cameras, and tabletop robots. That’s not all. Apple also plans to introduce its first foldable iPhone this year.

Foldable iPhone could arrive this year

It all starts this September, according to Garman’s latest Power On newsletter. He expects Apple to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the first foldable iPhone, which he calls the “iPhone Ultra.” The launch event could also include Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4.

Other products reportedly coming this year include multiple Macs and a new entry-level iPad that will support Apple Intelligence with a processor upgrade.

Apple’s smart display could recognize your face

Apple’s long-rumored smart home hub could arrive in 2026. The device is said to feature a 7-inch display and act as a central command hub for your home. According to Gurman’s previous report, the product resembles a square iPad and can be mounted on a half-dome speaker base or mounted on a wall. The interface will include circular app icons arranged similarly to the Apple Watch home screen.

The standout feature might be facial recognition. The device is reportedly designed to recognize when a person approaches and display personalized information such as calendar events, reminders, notes, music, and news preferences.

Apple is also said to be working on a new iPad mini with an OLED display. Meanwhile, the new Apple TV and HomePod mini with Apple Intelligence are reportedly undergoing advanced testing. Garman says he would be surprised if they didn’t arrive this year. However, no major design changes are planned. The biggest upgrades could be new Siri support and possibly a redesigned Apple TV remote.

iPhone’s 20th anniversary could be Apple’s biggest moment

Next year marks the 20th anniversary of the iPhone, but reports say Apple has even bigger plans. The company plans to release the second generation iPhone Air in the spring. The device is said to bring improved battery life and a second rear camera, and address some of the biggest complaints about the first-gen model.

However, the main attraction will reportedly arrive later that year. Apple is expected to launch special 20th anniversary iPhones called iPhone 20 Pro and iPhone 20 Pro Max. These devices are also expected to be joined by a second-generation foldable iPhone.

The company is also reportedly planning new AirPods. These earbuds are likely to include cameras that feed visual data to Siri’s AI system.

Apple’s first smart glasses may finally be here

Another product that has been the subject of rumors for a long time is Apple’s first smart glasses. The device was once expected to debut at the end of this year, but Garman now says the launch could be closer to the end of 2027.

Looking further ahead, Apple is reportedly developing a tabletop robot for late 2027 or 2028. The product is said to be an evolution of the company’s smart home display with a robotic arm and AI capabilities.

Garman previously said the idea was for the device to work much like a human in the room. It might interrupt a conversation about dinner plans and suggest nearby restaurants or recipes. And like OpenAI’s voice mode, it’s designed for back-and-forth conversations for tasks like planning trips and getting things done.

Additionally, Apple is reportedly working on an improved Vision headset and eventually augmented reality glasses.
