Anthropic has expanded the capabilities of its Claude AI chatbot by introducing a series of new connected services, moving the platform further into lifestyle assistance. For users who use multiple apps every day, this is a necessary convenience.

This update allows users to link Claude with popular apps such as Spotify, Booking.com, Viator, Uber, TripAdvisor, TurboTax, Instacart, Audible, and more, with additional integrations planned for future releases.

AI chatbots move beyond work use cases

Until now, Claude’s integrations have primarily focused on productivity, education, and work-related tools. This latest expansion means we go beyond the usual functionality. Chatbots are now leaning towards personal and lifestyle use cases, becoming more versatile everyday assistants.

According to Anthropic’s blog, users can now rely on Claude to help with real-world planning tasks, such as organizing travel itineraries, booking services, and coordinating entertainment options.

For example, Claude can use AllTrails to help plan a hiking trip and suggest Spotify playlists that match the duration of the activity and mood, creating a more seamless experience across multiple apps.

Smarter app suggestions within conversations

Anthropic has also improved the way Claude recommends connected services during conversations. Instead of forcing users to manually choose which apps to use, AI now proactively suggests relevant integrations based on context.

This means that when a user mentions travel plans, meals, or errands, Claude can automatically surface tools like Booking.com, Uber, and Resy. The goal is to reduce clutter and allow users to complete multi-step tasks without constantly switching between apps.

Keep user control and confirmation front and center

Despite these expanded capabilities, Claude does not perform any actions autonomously, according to Engadget.

Anthropic has confirmed that its AI will always request user approval before completing reservations, purchases, and other transactions. This gives users full control over decision-making and prevents unintended actions, while still benefiting from AI assistance.
