He gave a big kiss.
Andy Byron resigned Saturday as CEO of the $1.3 billion AI company he found, and the astronomer resigned just days after catching HR's head and canoeing at Jumbotron at a Cold Play concert.
“As mentioned earlier, astronomers are committed to the values and culture that have led us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set standards in both conduct and accountability, and these standards have not been met recently,” the company said in a statement on Saturday.
“Andy Byron submitted his resignation and the board accepted.”
Sources who said his resignation was likely his best course of action said the company's board of directors chose to fire Byron and left him with nothing left.
Byron, 50, and Christine Cabot, 52, caused a viral storm that approached when they saw them desperately avoiding a kiss cam while hugging at a concert near Boston on Wednesday night.
At the moment on the deer's head, Cabot quickly covered her face, and Byron was quickly delved into her vision.
Lead singer Chris Martin seemed confused before saying, “They're either cheating or very shy,” thinking he had captured a gentle moment.
By Thursday morning, the pair had been identified as high-power CEOs and HR bosses for a high-tech company.
Friday – On the same day, a new video appeared showing Byron and Cabot holding their lips in their concert. Both were placed on vacation while astronomers said they were investigating the catastrophe, which accelerated a spectacular downfall.
Byron began negotiations for an exit package after being placed on holiday Thursday, Axios reported.
Interim CEO and Brooklyn co-founder Pete DeJoy has been appointed.
Estimated to be worth between $50 million and $70 million, Byron was paid between $469,000 and $690,000 a year, but received a handsome performance-based bonus.
The future of Cabot with an AI-led data company remains unknown.
The astronomer has started searching for the next CEO, with Dejoy leading the company.
In a cheeky nod to the scandal, DeJoy reportedly “loves” Zachary Hensley's Linked Post, a vice president of astronomer technology and operations from 2019 to 2024.
“Ahead of this week, we are known as pioneers in the DataOps space, helping our data teams move everything from the latest analytics to production AI,” their statement on Saturday said.
This is the latest in CEOs.
“Our perception may have changed overnight, but not our products and work for our customers.”
Astronomers were thriving in the months leading up to the incident.
Byron's wife, 50-year-old Megan Kerrigan, deleted her shared last name from her Facebook profile before completely removing it after a flood of messages about a suspicious event.
Cabot is also believed to be married to Andrew Cabot, 60, owner of Private Rum.
The couple was seen in recent photos of them posing with their two children, with Christine Cabot appearing to be wearing a wedding ring.
The man who answered the door to Kerrigan's mother's Massachusetts home, refusing to comment on Saturday, despite angered neighbors who knew the family praised them.
“Kerrigan is the salt of the earth, hardworking people, and they don't deserve to be dragged into the mud,” the neighbor told the Post.
Andy Byron, Megan Kerrigan, Christine Cabot and Andy Cabot were unable to contact us for comment.
It is unclear where both marriages stand in the wake of the prominent scandal. Before that, both families seemed to live in the American Dream, featuring pictures of happy families and vast mansions.
Five months ago, Cabot and her CEO husband purchased a $2.2 million home in a seaside town in Rye, New Hampshire.
