Andrew Rannells is back where it all started. During The Book of Mormon’s record-breaking Magical Mormon Mystery Week, the original Broadway star returned to the Eugene O’Neill Theater to reprise one of the musical’s most beloved songs, “I Believe.” Watch the video of his performance below.
Thanks to a special anniversary celebration, The Book of Mormon broke box office records at the Eugene O’Neill Theater, grossing $2,238,369.45 in eight performances per week ending June 14, 2026. This figure surpassed the previous house record for the show, which was $2,224,280, set during a nine-performance week in 2015.
Celebrating the musical’s 15th anniversary on Broadway, Magical Mormon Mystery Week featured the original cast of Tony Award nominees Josh Gad, Andrew Rannells, and Rory O’Malley, as well as Tony Award winner Nicky M. James. The celebration included surprise appearances by co-creators Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Robert Lopez, as well as additional members of the original Broadway company, making each performance a unique event for audiences.
Featuring book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone, The Book of Mormon is directed by Casey Nicholaw and Parker, with choreography by Nicholaw.
Since opening on Broadway in March 2011, The Book of Mormon has become one of the most successful musicals in Broadway history. The production broke more than 50 box office records at the Eugene O’Neill Theater and won nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
