Amazon India has launched the fifth edition of Machine Learning Summer School. It aims to train 3,000 engineering students in AI and Generate AI through a free, four-week virtual program starting in August 2025.
Amazon India launches the fifth edition of Flagship Machine Learning Summer School (MLSS) and continues to expand India's emerging AI talent. The 2025 program aims to train 3,000 engineering students in cutting-edge machine learning (ML) and generator AI applications through a rigorous four-week virtual course starting in August.
No fees, online test entry
The program is open to engineering students graduating between 2026-27, or students enrolled in bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs from accredited Indian institutions. The program is free and requires applicants to pass the online qualification test. Registration is open on Amazon's official website from July 21st to 31st.
Since its founding in 2021, Amazon's ML Summer School has trained nearly 10,000 students in India. Following its domestic success, Amazon expanded its program internationally under the name “Amazon Science Campus,” launched in Australia in 2023 and recently launched in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Curriculum details
Participants will be trained through eight expert-led modules covering, among other things, unsupervised, unsupervised learning, deep learning, large-scale language models (LLM), and generation AI. Each session will introduce live Q&A opportunities with Amazon's ML scientists to enhance your understanding of real-world applications.
“At Amazon, we believe that true innovation starts with access to knowledge, guidance and opportunities,” said Rajeev Rastogi, Amazon's Vice President of Machine Learning. “This programme is not just a course, it's a launchpad for future AI leaders in India.”
The curriculum is consistent with current industry and academic standards, ensuring that students develop both basic knowledge and application-oriented skills. A recent AWS Mandate Study by Access Partnership found that while AI-trained workers in India could earn up to 54%, 79% of employers struggle to find the right skilled talent, underscoring the need for such an initiative.
