Alibaba has launched Qwen3.6-Plus, a new model in the Qwen large-scale language model series targeting enterprise AI applications such as coding and multimodal inference.

The new model will be integrated into several products, most notably Wukong, Alibaba’s AI enterprise platform, and the Qwen app. Qwen3.6-Plus aims to improve productivity and efficiency by enabling autonomous multi-step workflows across various business settings.

Qwen3.6-Plus supports a 1 million token context window by default. This model can analyze images, documents, and videos as well as plan, test, and iterate code for repository-level engineering. It is available through Model Studio and Qwen Chat on Alibaba Cloud and is compatible with third-party coding tools such as OpenClaw, Claude Code, and Cline.

Alibaba has stated that some models of the Qwen3.6 series will continue to support the open source community. The announcement is consistent with Alibaba’s broader commercial strategy to profit through AI initiatives.

Wukong supports agent workflows and is currently in invite-only beta testing. The platform connects with DingTalk, Alibaba’s enterprise collaboration service used by more than 20 million users, and focuses on workflow automation. Alibaba plans to gradually incorporate its e-commerce platforms Taobao and Tmall into Wukong to enhance the skills of its modular agents.

The rise of AI agents has led to significant efficiency gains across a variety of industries. The McKinsey report mentions a major bank that used a team of AI agents to reduce the time and effort required to update legacy systems by more than 50%. Additionally, multi-agent systems are being leveraged in investment research and communications operations, where they are predicted to increase the speed of certain tasks by 3x and improve credit risk memo productivity by 20% to 60%.

Alibaba Group, a global leader in technology and e-commerce, is actively developing advanced AI solutions to support enterprise efficiency. The company’s strategic initiatives position it well in the expanding AI market.
