Microsoft announced that it will expand access to the Microsoft 365 Copilot preview and introduce new features. We also published insights from our 2023 Work Trend Index report, “Will AI Fix Work?” This follows his early 2023 introduction of Microsoft 365 Copilot, which brings new generative AI capabilities to apps like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
Data from the 2023 Job Trends Index show that the pace of work is accelerating faster than humans can keep up, impacting innovation.
In particular, the next generation of artificial intelligence (AI) can alleviate this overwhelming task and, importantly, improve creativity and productivity for those organizations that were the first to adopt AI.
“AI represents a whole new way of working, moving from autopilot to copilot, freeing us from digital debt and spurring innovation,” said Vinod Muralidharan, General Manager, Modern Work, Microsoft Asia. says.
“According to a Work Trend Index study, 78% of people in the region believe they will delegate as much work to AI as possible to lighten their workload. The opportunity and responsibility is to understand how AI can be leveraged to reduce tedious work, unleash creativity and build AI aptitude.”
This report shares three key insights for business leaders to responsibly embrace AI.
1. Innovation is being victimized by digital debt – We all have digital debt. The amount of data, emails and chats is outweighing our processing power. Every minute spent managing this digital debt is wasted on creative work. 72% of people in Asia-Pacific say they don’t have enough time and energy to get their work done, and those people are three times more likely to say they struggle to be innovative higher. The average person spends 57% of their time in Microsoft 365 communicating and just 43% creating. And the biggest culprit that hinders productivity is inefficient meetings.
2. New AI and Workforce Collaboration – 58% of respondents in Asia Pacific said they were worried AI would replace their jobs, but an even higher 78% , we want to delegate as much work to the AI as possible to reduce the workload. Managers, on the other hand, are 1.9 times more likely to say that AI is most valuable in the workplace for productivity gains rather than job cuts.
3. Every employee needs AI aptitude – All employees, not just AI experts, need new core competencies like agile engineering every day. His 85% of Asia Pacific leaders expect their workforce to need new skills in the AI era.
To put this into perspective, it means that to empower companies in the AI era, they need to acquire knowledge about AI. To this end, Microsoft is introducing the Microsoft 365 Copilot Early Access Program as the first of an invitation-only paid preview program for 600 enterprise customers worldwide.
Additionally, the following new features will be added to Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Viva:
