AI Video & Visuals

The AI-generated video of Sam Altman stealing artwork from Studio Ghibli surfaced on social media shortly after Sora 2 (AI Generating Software) was announced by Openai earlier this week.

In the AI clip shared by genre AI CEO PJ Ace on X, Altman is seen documenting himself by saying, “Japan is so cool, I'm taking these.” The video then shows Miyazaki chasing after him, increasing his exaggerated comedic effect.

When the video went viral, users responded to the creative use of AI and blended real-world personality with fictional scenarios. Some were amusing about the comedy exaggeration and visual storytelling.

One user commented, “Miyazaki can use this video as evidence, just in case this happens.”

People in the comments section also discussed the potential applications of AI tools such as SORA 2, suggesting that the technology could serve as a bridge for Sam Altman to engage with young digital native audiences in a whole new way.

Released on September 30th, Openai's SORA 2 is a text-to-video AI that creates short, realistic videos from the prompt. It also features improved visuals, synchronous audio, and “cameo” options to insert people, animals, or objects into the video.
