A recent survey by hiring platform Indeed revealed that 42% of AI-generated jobs in India mention “machine learning.” Similarly, 40% of job postings appreciate AI flexibility and technical skills, calling for “Python” skills. Other sought-after skills are AI core and communication skills, appearing in 36% and 23% of job ads, respectively. Other sought-after skills include natural language processing (20%), TensorFlow (19%), and data science (17%).

Indian employers have a strong interest in AI, with over 85% believing that AI will create jobs in the next 1-5 years.
Nasscom and BCG also predicted that the AI market will reach $17 billion by 2027, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25-35%. This exponential growth will necessitate employers in India to hire talent with the requisite AI skills.
Sashi Kumar, sales head at Indeed India, said Indians need to focus on improving their leadership in the global discussion on AI. “Companies should help their employees learn more so they can acquire the necessary skills,” he added.
